Back to traditional ways

Date :11-Nov-2019

Infertility has become a problem among most of the couples, mainly due to the changing lifestyles. Usually, couples tend to choose artificial insemination or IVF to conceive. There are even natural ways available to treat infertility issues. Ayurveda, in the traditional footsteps, can deal with all kinds of problems. Ayurveda brings out the required change to the entire body functioning and improves the system.

Ayurveda brings out the changes through its medicines, natural diet, exercise, and other lifestyle modifications. Ayurveda enhances the chances of natural conception. According to the Ayurvedic system, the reproductive tissue or Shukra dhatu is an end product of the metabolic processes for both men and women. Agni or dhathwagni plays a significant role in having a healthy metabolic process as it coordinates and conducts rasa between all the seven tissues such as muscles, fat, bone marrow, nutrient fluid to blood, and finally, the reproductive tissue.
Usually, infertility is caused due to block in the fallopian tubes, PCOS, endometriosis, low sperm count, low sperm mobility, smoking, alcohol, and other factors. However, Ayurveda can rectify these issues with the presence of four factors such as seed or oocyte or sperm, soil or reproductive tissue, season or fertile period, and water or nutrition.

Virechana treatment
With virechana treatment, one can balance the pitta in their body. It is an induced purgation process that can bring out the appropriate balance in the body. Virechana treatment can heal issues such as digestive disorders, acidity or hyperacidity, burning sensations, asthma, headaches, and skin ailments too.

Couples with infertility can seek help with virechana treatment. The procedure involves several days of oleation, which involves the consumption of pure ghee or medicated ghee followed by a gentle herbal purgative. The purgation can either aggravate or accumulate pitta and Kapha doshas. This will help to decrease pitta heat and will increase coolness that is required for the formation of Shukra dhatu or ovum and sperm. To create the reproductive tissue, a strong and balanced Agni or dhathwagni is a must, and the virechana procedure can rectify and bring the balance.

Virechana treatment also removes the free radicals or oxidants that will be present in the microchannels of the semen pathway, and this, in turn, increases the motility of sperm.

Benefits of Virechana treatment

  • There are a few benefits after virechana treatment, such as:
